About Time - December 2023

After a long four year wait to bring our full cast back together on stage in front of a live audience, ‘About Time’ did not disappoint! Audience members joined Professor Time Travel as he raced across the galaxy to show his new companion some familiar faces, historic moments and the wonder of space and time. Recorded live at Blackpool Sixth Form Theatre, the performance was a comical, moving and glittering inclusive theatre offering. ‘About Time’ is now available to buy on our merchandise page as a DVD or Digital Download. Summer Showcase - July 2023

This event was a wonderful celebration of the hard work shown by our members during the Summer 2023 term at TramShed. Through our devising process, they chose selected themes to create a variety of inclusive theatre offerings to showcase, including creative sign language, singing and scripted drama work. Audiences enjoyed performances from all our age groups, as well as the Arts Practitioner Awards, and the presentation of the inclusive shields.

Together We Can

With over 15 wonderful years to look back on, it was difficult to choose what to include in our 15th Anniversary performance. Beside the Seaside

Beside the Seaside - July 2018

We decided to create a project using travelling as the main focus. Beside the Seaside took our audiences on a wonderful journey of vibrant characters, colourful destinations and comical storylines.

TramShed bought a burst of colour to this vibrant performance. Seeing our audiences leave feeling uplifted, shows are members they really did turn the grey skies to blue.

 
Change Makers

Change Makers - July 2017

In the blink of an eye, TramShed celebrated their 10th anniversary in this inclusive celebration. Change Makers gave our members the opportunity to look back through ten magical years.

Such fantastic work from the Arts Practitioner Team allowing every member to shine, from cheeky Ugly Bugs, back flipping bears, show stealing singing scarecrows to indescribable Irish dancing and the most enthusiastic face slap I’ve ever seen. One moment in time

One Moment in Time - December 2016

We took our audiences on a journey through the decades during this performance. Members created their own moment in time once again.

Fun of the fair

Fun of the Fair - July 2016

This performance was the second inclusive piece to be supported by the Heritage Lottery Young Roots programme. Fun of the Fair allowed us to explore Blackpool’s fairground culture and travelling community.

I loved every minute and thought that the characterisation was really strong; ducks, cheeky scouts, spoilt brats, doddery senior citizens, fun-loving Liverpudlians, self-important Councillors, hard-working fairground staff & crazy film crew! See+no+evil

See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil - May 2016

This performance, supported by Leftcoast, gave TramShed an opportunity to create an adaptation of Sticks & Stones for a new group of members attending TramShed. Performed at our workshop base Woodlands, this gritty piece of physical theatre also featured British Sign Language.

All You Need is Love - December 2015

The love of inclusion is clear to see when our members perform on stage, so what better subject matter than love for this magical performance.

Sticks and stones

Sticks & Stones - July 2015

Supported by Children in Need, this moving piece of inclusive theatre allowed us to turn our attentions to hate crime. The TramShed members performed to sell out houses once again and shouted our inclusive message loud and clear.

Roll the titles

Roll the Titles - December 2014

What better subject matter than that of films. This vibrant and energetic performance shared music from James Bond, Titanic, Men in Black and much more.

Heads or tails

Heads or Tails - July 2014

Would you let the flip of coin decide your fate? This is exactly the journey taken in Heads or Tails! As always with a TramShed show, there was an important message shared in the show’s conclusion: always give things a go. Our first performance at Blackpool Sixth Form Theatre played to sell out houses.

Given the importance of the TramShed community, it was important to write a show to highlight what a difference a supportive environment can make. A place that we call home, this home is our place!

Northern Lights Hotel - July 2012

What better than to feature a TramShed show all about a fictional hotel in Blackpool. Shed Tours arrived for the holiday of a lifetime and our purpose-built set was there to await them!

Eclipse

Eclipse - July 2011

Pistachio the clown burst onto the stage with many other vibrant characters in Eclipse, to create a colourful performance all about the circus.

The Keeper

The Keeper - July 2010

Performing at Thornton Little Theatre was an exciting development for TramShed. The Keeper was based around a time theme and saw the first of many characters in our history using British Sign Language on stage.

 
Star-Crossed

Star-Crossed - July 2009

Based on an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Star-Crossed was based around Blackpool gang violence and gun crime. This hard-hitting piece of inclusive theatre enabled us to demonstrate to our audiences the powerful approach inclusive theatre can have, especially when paired with such important subject matter.

 
Dreamcatcher

Dreamcatcher - July 2008

TramShed showcased out first original musical theatre production in July 2008. Dreamcatcher allowed our members the opportunity to devise around dreams and our subconscious thoughts. Performed at Cardinal Allen Theatre in Fleetwood, this was the first of many inclusive performances for TramShed.
