TramShed is an Inclusive Theatre Company based at Woodlands School in Blackpool. We deliver our Inclusive workshops all over the North West and have a membership base of over 100 individuals, who attend weekly.
Our Main Company is split into the following age groups:
Mini Children’s Theatre (4-6 years), Children’s Theatre (7-12 years), Youth Theatre (12-17 years) and Adult Company (18+ years).
TramShed is a registered charity and therefore we are continually working to secure funding and donations in order for our inspirational style of workshops to continue. In the past we have been lucky enough to receive funding from Children in Need, Arts Council England, The Health Lottery, The Foyle Foundation, Auto Trader Community Funding, Blackpool Coastal Housing – Tenant’s Project Fund, Aiming High for Disabled Children, Blackpool Council, Blackpool Youth Opportunities Fund, The Network Learning Fund, Awards for All, The Golsoncotte Foundation, Talk Sport Radio Wave, Change for Charity, Blackpool Rotary Club, Barclays Bank, The Co-op Foundation, The Co-op and Lloyds TSB. Without the kind support of these businesses and organisations TramShed would not have been able to continue.
TramShed performed ‘Dreamcatcher’ in July 2008, which was our first original musical theatre production. Each performance was a sell out and the production showcased our amazing members and allowed people to see how much of an impact Inclusive theatre can have on our community. Since this amazing project, we have staged Original Inclusive performances twice a year, developed an extensive Outreach strand, offer Bronze and Silver Arts Awards and most recently have launched a Theatre in Education sector. The company continues to go from strength to strength.
Established by Chickenshed in 2005, TramShed is part of an ever-growing number of
independent ‘Sheds’ nationwide, working by the Chickenshed inclusive creative method.
Charlotte Bull, Head of Children’s Theatre at Chickenshed said;
‘Working with the TramShed staff and members has been an absolute privilege for all
of us here at Chickenshed. Their enthusiasm for creating a place which is not only
exciting and creative but a place where anyone and everyone is welcome has been
overwhelming. The staff and members of TramShed have been an absolute joy to work with and they have embraced Inclusive theatre with open arms.’
