Artistic Director - January ‘STARS’ of the Month
The TramShed members are working incredibly hard during our creative programme. Every week they are achieving great things and giving workshops their all to create inclusive theatre. We would like to highlight some of the wonderful achievements by giving a special award to one member every month. This also gives us a lovely opportunity to share more about our members and the important work that goes on at TramShed.
This month, the Artistic Director ‘STARS of the Month’ go to an amazing group of members who excitedly took to the stage to perform ‘The Greatest Show’ with a spectacular set, breathtaking circus aerial artists and a glittering back drop at the AO Arena in Manchester! Within the performance, TramShed showcased our beautiful Creative Sign Language, which is an area within the arts we are well known for, bringing together British Sign Language, Makaton and dance into one beautiful creative offering. The show was aired on BBC One. Supported by our volunteers and staff, they absolutely rocked the house! We are so proud of them!
This was a truly once in a lifetime experience for those involved and wonderful to be part of. Performing on stage can often be a nerve wracking and difficult thing to do, pushing us all out of our comfort zones. Performing to 12,000 people and 20+ TV cameras at a venue like the AO Arena however, is another level! They were calm, professional, energetic, fantastic team players and most importantly, beautifully inclusive throughout.
Well done to:
Adam Clarke, Maddy Salisbury, Katie Whittaker, Taryn Lattimer-Dell, Alicia Dervish Foster, Charlie Hudson, Archie Hudson, Joseph Norris, Nicole Parker, Tiagan Christie and Chloe Crook!!
Special thanks to The Arts Practitioner Team and Adult Volunteers - Berni Ashworth, Shelley Nicholson and Vicky Leake for incredible hard work and support to our members.
