Arts Award
Arts Award is…
…a range of unique qualifications that supports anyone aged 11-25 (12+ for Gold) to grow as artists and arts leaders, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts world through taking challenges in an art form – from fashion to digital art, pottery to poetry. TramShed focus our Arts Award on inclusive theatre practice.
Offered at three different levels, young people get to:
• discover the enjoyment of creating and participating in any art form
• develop their creativity and leadership skills
• learn new skills and share them with others
• get to work with or experience working with creative arts professionals
• gain experience and knowledge to progress into further education and employment
To achieve their Arts Award, young people take on challenges in an art form, participate in arts activities, experience arts events, get inspired by artists and share their arts skills with others. Young people create a portfolio to keep a record of their creative journey. Along the way they are supported by an Arts Award adviser, acting as assessor, facilitator and mentor. TramShed’s Arts Award Advisor is Emma Rucastle.
Who is it for?
Anyone between the ages of 11 and 25 (12+ for Gold). TramShed offer a fully Inclusive setting. It doesn’t matter what your background, performing arts experience or need, we can offer a friendly welcome and the support you need to help you on your journey towards an Arts Award qualification. You might love acting, singing or dance or prefer backstage activities like directing or costume/set design…all you need to take part is enthusiasm and a willingness to take part and the time to commit to our weekly workshops and creating your portfolio.
Costs
Bronze - £100 (17 week course)
Silver - £250 (38 week course)
Gold - £400 (42 week course)
Get Involved
TramShed are delivering a Gold Arts Award in Inclusive Performing Arts from January 2024. The qualification is open to 12-25 year olds and you can take part, even if you have not completed Bronze or Silver. Download an application form or find out more with our Q & A Sheet.
