What we do

We’re an inclusive theatre company and charity that changes people’s lives.

Our work

We welcome individuals from all over the northwest and pride ourselves in ensuring that no member at TramShed is excluded, only celebrated. We offer inclusive performing arts to all children, young people and adults, no matter what their background, experiences or needs. Our members are given a stimulating theatre environment which allows them to learn new skills, build confidence and showcase their talents. And our team are the best inclusive arts practitioners we could ask for.

You haven’t experienced theatre until you’ve experienced inclusive theatre

TramShed on stage

Our members are at the heart of everything we do. We devise content and project themes based on their ideas, thoughts and feelings. And we write our creative material in-house, so everything we produce is original. Our main company is split into

  • Mini Children’s Theatre (4-7 years)

  • Children’s Theatre (8-12 years)

  • Youth Theatre (13-16 years)

  • Young Adult Company (17-24 years)

  • Adult Company (25+ years)

Community focus

We’re proud of our work in the community as it means we can involve people who’ve previously been excluded from performing arts through no fault of their own. Take a look at some of our previous projects.

Accredited Arts Award Centre

Our extensive outreach programme is popular with individuals and also schools throughout the northwest. We deliver Bronze, Silver and Gold Arts Award. Find out more about our work with Arts Award.

“I am so massively proud that my children are involved in such a wonderful inclusive team. It is amazing to watch everyone in the TramShed family progress, but as a parent watching my children grow that little bit more in confidence each show, is the best feeling!” - Michael Boughton
