TramShed Sponsored Events!

TramShed Sponsored Event

TramShed Sponsored Event

TramShed members are taking part in various sponsored events on Tuesday 10th March to raise funds for our summer Inclusive performance project, taking place in July 2015 at Blackpool Sixth Form Theatre.

Our Mini Children’s Theatre will be competing in a Sponsored Beat the Goalie, Children’s Theatre & Youth Theatre will be enjoying a Fancy Dress Sports Day and Adult Company will be joining together to take part in Fancy Dress Line Dancing!

Staging such a large scale performance week at TramShed means that there are always many expensive elements involved. As a charity we must raise as many funds as possible to ensure our Inclusive work can continue.  If you would like to sponsor any of our members you can visit our Virgin Money Giving page HERE and pledge a donation, or alternatively get in touch with our Arts Practitioner Team on 07852 498427 for other ways to donate.

Thank you for helping to keep our Inclusive vision alive.

Christmas Variety Production 2011

Thanks to everyone who took part or were involved in the variety production
on 17th December and Sunday 18th December. It was a great success! Video and pictures coming soon.

Eclipse July 2011

TramShed showcased Eclipse at Thornton Little Theatre on 21st, 22nd and 23rd July. This Original Musical Theatre Production was based around the circus and had amazing reviews from audience members. The cast transformed into lovable clowns, comical circus acts and dark and mysterious characters to create a fabulous production. Check out the Gallery page to see TramShed in action.

The Keeper July 2010

TramShed’s original musical theatre production ‘The Keeper’ was showcased to full houses over 3 nights in July 2010. This Summer Production was based around ‘Time’ and through devising workshops the members and Arts Practitioner Team created a fabulous story with some interesting characters who had to change their ways.

Christmas Variety Production 2010

This exciting variety production showcased all areas of the Performing Arts. The evening once again allowed our talented members to shine and featured many favourite such as, The Ugly Bug Ball, Grease, Time Warp, Victoria Wood Sketches and many Christmas classics. Well done to all took part in what was a fabulous show.

Christmas Variety Production 2009

In December 2009 TramShed took to the stage once again in a fantastic variety show, performed at Thornton Little Theatre. The members put together a brilliant line up of numbers including a James Bond Medley, Michael Jackson’s Thriller and The Twelve Days of Christmas (with a twist)! Also performed was a preview of the forthcoming production ‘The Keeper’ just to give everyone a little taster of what’s to come!!

Star Crossed 2009 Show

TramShed’s original musical theatre production of ‘Star Crossed’ was performed in front of a packed house at Thornton Little Theatre, over three nights in July 2009. It was a modern Romeo and Juliet story, set in Blackpool. It told how two families became embroiled in a bitter war against each other, resulting in tragic consequences. The performance was written entirely by TramShed members and the Arts Practitioner Team.

Layton Institute December 2008

Each year the Layton Institute hosts a fabulous charity event for TramShed in which local Cabaret Vocalists, Dancers, Circus Acts and TramShed themselves perform. Several auctions are held for some fantastic items and everyone who comes along is guaranteed to have a great night’s entertainment.

Dreamcatcher July 2008

Dreamcatcher was a piece of original theatre created entirely by TramShed members and staff. Each individual contributed to the performance and it was a celebration of what we can achieve when we work together. Way back in January 2008 we began to workshop ideas around our theme of Dreams. From these workshops the members then tried out different ideas and along side this the Practitioner team wrote the script and music. Many of the people who appeared in Dreamcatcher had never been in a performance before and taking part increased their confidence greatly.

Thanks to Blackpool Youth Opportunity funding the budget for our show was covered by a fantastic donation. This allowed us to buy our own stage microphones and have costumes made for the full cast. The show was a very professional high standard and the Practitioner team were very proud of all involved.

The show was filmed and Dvd’s are now available from the Practitioner team at a cost of £10.

Layton Institute Charity Night December 2007

Another great charity event at The Layton Institute, this event raised in excess of £1800 and many local singers, dancers and variety acts took part. Blackpool’s very own Hayley Kay compered the evening and TramShed were delighted with the event. It was also the very first time that TramShed performed as a full company and really enjoyed the opportunity.

Sponsored Walk

All our TramShed members joined together in Blackpool to walk from South Pier to North Pier. It was a fantastic turn out and the weather was beautiful! Thanks to Barclays Bank matching the amount we raised the total taken for this event was an amazing £1500 which was put to great use at TramShed.

Children In Need November 2007

TramShed were delighted to be asked to sing for Children In Need and performed on North Pier as one of over 12 Theatre Companies and Choirs over the United Kingdom. Lee Mead from the West End sang ‘Any Dream Will Do’ with all the children and young people backing him. A great experience for our members.
