On Friday 22nd of August, the final day of Muli Mutya, Lancashire! was delivered in Kampala, Uganda. Our pilot theatre group had a full day at the National Theatre with the Arts Team and Volunteer Team, practicing all they had devised and created throughout the week’s pilot project.
The performance rocked Kampala at 6.00pm
with a vibrant display of inclusive theatre, including music, dance, physical theatre, drama and amazing Ugandan rhythms! The audience was very well attended and many important, influential individuals from the local community were present to support the performance. A comments board was put in place in the auditorium to gauge what people thought of the piece.
Everyone has worked so hard throughout this project, which began back in July 2013. We are extremely proud of everything MML achieved at TramShed. Friendships have been made, techniques have been shared and inclusive theatre has been developed, embraced and celebrated.
To mark the end of this amazing project, we are having a celebration evening on Tuesday 7th October at Montgomery High School. The evening will include presentations from key people involved with the project, sharing of videos, photographs and light refreshments for all in attendance. Anyone who has taken part in any of the MML phases within the past year, (whether that be in training phases, workshop participation, outreach projects or just as a supporter) are welcome to attend and we hope to close this amazing project in style. The celebration evening will be from 6-8pm, for more information call the Arts Practitioner Team on 07852 498427.
